Highland Mantras -
Robert Watt
CD 10815
Relaxing Bordune music.
Meditative and mantra-like music played on the Great Highland Bag Pipe. As the holy mantras transfer the listener into a meditative condition, the artist skilfully creates an almost sacral mood, by performing his mantra-bourdon-music. The different pieces of music are joined by the sound of nature.
”Immerge into the mystical sound of the pipes and experience feelings of freedom, ease and happiness”. Robert Watt
Over the last few years I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places world-wide and meet people from various cultural backgrounds. I believe that the unique sound of this instrument, the ‘Great Highland Bagpipe‘, universally sparks a very wide spectrum of emotions in people. A sound which provokes both feelings of happiness and sadness, a sound that touches the heart of each individual in a very special way. This recording is not of traditional pipe tunes, but my interpretation of musical themes, thoughts and emotions.
